Tara Minton is an Australian born harpist, vocalist and composer. She is proudly endorsed by Les Harpes Camac and holds a master's degree in Jazz Performance from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Sought after as both a harpist and vocalist, Tara has worked with Björk, Tom Walker, Stan Sulzmann, Geoff Gascoyne, Emma Rawicz, Miranda Mulholland, Alice Zawadski, Ester Wiesnerova, Vivvienne Aerts, Faris Ishaq, The Ronnie Scott's All Stars, The Rotary Connection, Opera North, The Royal Ballet and the Australian World Orchestra. 

 In 2018 Tara was invited to accompany Björk for her first television appearance in over a decade on "Later... with Jools Holland." She then performed with her at Primavera Sound Festival before beginning her Masters in Jazz Performance at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Whilst studying, Tara played live with Tom Walker on "BBC Live Lounge" and recorded a Valentine's Day special live performance of his hit single, 'Just You and I.' In 2019 after completing her studies, Tara was invited as a headlining artist for Festival Internacional de l'Arpa Sentmenat. She also recorded 'By Appointment or Chance' with Canadian folk legend, Miranda Mulholland, which was later nominated for a JUNO Award. 

In 2020 Tara released her critically acclaimed album ‘Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid', exploring themes of climate change and mer-myth.

Despite covid, Tara was a finalist in the 2021 World Harp Competition and in January 2022 she released ‘Two For The Road’ with bassist Ed Babar. The album was produced by Geoff Gascoyne (Jamie Cullum) and features Stan Sulzmann on tenor saxophone. That same year Tara was invited perform a full recital at the 2022 World Harp Congress in Cardiff and joined The Australia World Orchestra for The BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta. In the Autumn of 2022 Tara featured with 'The Ronnie Scott's All Stars' for their celebration of the music of Burt Bacharach, recorded live at Ronnie Scott's and broadcast on the BBC.  

“Bewitching" - Jazzwise  

 In March 2023 Tara was invited to return to The Guildhall as a guest artist and tutor for a special large ensemble performance of her suite 'Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid.' Tara performed at the Al Bustan International Festival for Peace in Beirut with Palestinian Nay maestro, Faris Ishaq, and also performed a series of concerts in México City and at the Live Radio Jazz Awards in Bratislava with Slovak vocalist and composer, Ester Wiesnerova. In July that year, Tara returned to Mexico City at the Invitation of the Latin American Harp Association to present a masterclass in jazz harp and to write a new suite of music: "The Devil Invites You To Dance." In October 2023 Tara was invited to collaborate on a very special immersive production, "The Drop" with Opera North and Alice Zawadski for "Light Night" in Leeds.  

 In March 2024, Tara performed with Trish Clowes and Ross Stanley at Wigmore Hall for a special International Women's Day concert, and in June 2024 premiered her new suite "The Devil Invites You To Dance" at The Elgar Room at The Royal Albert Hall.

In March 2025, Tara was invited to present "The History of Jazz Harp" in concert at Ronnie Scott's, which was filmed for The Ronnie Scott's Jazz Archive. She recorded 'The Devil Invites You To Dance' in April 2025 and was invited to join The Rotary Connection for their headline show at 'We Out Here Festival' during the Summer. In October 2025 Tara returned to México City to present her new album in the city of its origin.

‘The Devil Invites You To Dance’ is released worldwide on Adhyâropa Records on the 11th of September, with the launch concert Updtairs at Ronnie Scott’s.

Tara is a passionate music educator and advocate for the harp in jazz and improvised music. She has given masterclasses in jazz and improvisation at many of the country’s top music colleges and presents concerts and workshops with registered music charity "The Blues and Roots Ensemble".

Tara co-hosts 'The Jazz Podcast' with saxophonist Rob Cope, which was nominated for a Parliamentary Jazz Award in 2022. She was invited to represent the podcast at the Radio Jazz Research conference in Austria in 2024.
